Quicktip 16 – WP Easy Flash Embed

Embedding Flash into a WordPress post can be messy when using the standard HTML tag and won’t always be compatible in every browser. It could even make your post unreadable to anyone who visits it.
Quick Tip Gary
Luckily there is a very quick and easy fix to this using a simple plugin to make embedding Flash easy with only one line of code. The plugin is called Easy Flash Embed and will keep your code compliant.

Once you have uploaded the plugin to your WordPress plugins folder and activated it you will then need to write something like this in your post:

[swf src="http://www.example.com/my-flash-file.swf" width=300 height=100]

You can also add alternative content for people who do not have Flash by writing in between the [swf] brackets, for example:

[swf src="http://www.example.com/my-flash-file.swf" width=300 height=100] You must have Flash to view this file [/swf]
